If you need to speak to someone urgently about a bird rescue, then please try the Three Owls Sanctuary's 24 hours helpline: 07973 819389.
If you can, please leave a donation when you hand a bird over to a rescue centre. Most of the small sanctuaries need all the donations that they can get just to keep going and the birds really need them!
Please never leave a bird or animal at a sanctuary without telling anyone there that you have done so. Animals have died because they have been found too late outside a sanctuary's gate.
Many rescue centres and sanctuaries believe in automatic euthanasia for pigeons with neurological symptoms that suggest and for other pigeons that will be unreleasable. Most sanctuaries do not have the facilities for keeping unreleasable pigeons You might want to check the sanctuary's policies before signing a pigeon over.
